Invitation for articles

Following feedback from our latest event, we heard from you that the website is one area you’d like to see developed.

GECCo would like to invite you to suggest blog articles for our website.  Currently we would like to hear about two themes:

  1. Tell us about anything/anyone you have become connected with following engagement with GECCo and how that has changed or developed what you were working on before, or how it has created something new.  We’d also welcome theoretical/philosophical pieces if anything you have engaged in via GECCo has changed a perspective on an aspect of global emergency care.  The connection may be very light, but we’d like to see how it links back to GECCo.
  2. Opportunities in global emergency care (nationally or internationally) which you would like to tell others about who might like to get involved (with web-links/contact details/relevant dates etc).  The structure of this needs to include enough information about the opportunity but also some element of reflection as to how you have been involved and/or why it is worthwhile

If you are not sure about a topic you have in mind, please get in touch and we can offer some guidance.  We will either offer some editorial suggestions or jointly help you with the re-drafting process.

A few guides:

  • Word count maximum 500 words
  • Reference other material if you use it (just be consistent, we don’t have a house style fixed yet)
  • If you use images make sure you have permission to do so
  • Joint pieces are welcome
  • As a guide roughly consider the piece equally in thirds between:
    • explanation/description of context
    • broader educational content
    • individual experience

This is the first time we have reached out for written material and so we are learning as we go – inevitably not everything will be suitable for the site so please bear with us as we work with you to pitch the material (and future requests) just right.
