health experience to inspire and reflect on how roles shift and adapt to changing contexts: something which has touched all of us as we navigate the pandemic. Our short video, edited by Gaby Prager and Phil Delbridge, showcases the variety of professions and the impact their global health work has had on them and their “day” jobs.

Participants told us what they considered to be the key aspects of making the global health team work.

Our very popular break out sessions brought smaller groups together to discuss these themes and consider their own ideas on the multi-professional team in global health. As always, this sparked connections and conversations moving well beyond the event itself.

I met some very inspiring people and look forward to working with them in the future

Finally we heard from the inspirational Dr Olivier Hagon who moved this discussion back “home”. He drew parallels between humanitarian response work in often international and low resource settings and the work of managing patients in the pandemic. A deeply reflective presentation, it questioned approaches to providing essential versus optimal care as well as the psychological impact of managing a healthcare disaster in a well-resourced context.
